Learn to paint a Red Lily in a gold background. This painting was created for the painting classes, is a simple and charming painting for a person that is starting to paint. Is good for learning to blend colors.

If you like, you can also bring a photo of a landscape or seascape that you would like to paint together with your supplies.

Supply:

Acrylics: There are many brands of acrylic paintings that I have tested but the one that I like the most is: SOHO, Urban Artistic Acrylic: Excellent paintings, sold at more reasonable price by Jerry’s Arterama. 3060 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. (919) 876-6610.

Oil Paintings: You can buy them at Michael’s, ACMoore, but again the most affordable ones are at Jerry’s Arterama and their brand is LUKAS.

The Angel of the Irises Painting.

The Angel of the Irises PaintingI did this painting on a beautiful spring day. Inspired by an angel surrounded by purple irises, sweet hopes of warm days to come!

Instructions:

  1. Start by drawing the angel and irises.
  2. In this painting is easer to do the under-paint and background with acrylics because they dry faster. The acrylic colors are: Titanium White, Gold, Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Yellow Medium and Cadmium Orange. Click the images to view a large painting >>
  3. Next paint angel, irises and leaves. You can do it with oil paintings or acrylics.
  4. Sign your work of art.

This is a simple painting for a beginner artist. You will learn the basics of color mixing, blending and texture.

Sunflower PaintingInstructions:
You can paint the sunflower with a light background or a dark background.

  1. Outline: Draw sunflower and leaves, outline sunflower with Cadmium Red Light and Cadmium Orange. For light version outline leaves with Greenish Umber, for dark background, outline leaves with Cadmium Yellow Light.
  2. Painting: Do it by blending all the beautiful colors. Center, create texture with Burnt Sienna and Burnt Umber.
  3. Background: For light version create texture with Cadmium Yellow Light and Sap Green. Dark version, create texture with Burnt Sienna and Burnt Umber.
  4. Sign your painting and enjoy it.

Irises, are early spring flowers. Beautiful soft colors that feel our yards with hopes of summer days. Painting by Clina Polloni.

After the cold days of winter. I can’t wait for the warm days of spring to see the purple irises emerging, green baby leaves appearing in the old oak tree and finally a rainbow of colors; I get my canvas, brushes, bright colors and go outside, seat in the purple chair and paint.
